“I’m an adrenaline swimmer. You feel like your ready for it. You don’t know what’s going to happen. Anything can happen.”

Chris Powell
Born Jan. 24, 1995 to parents, Jeff and Becky, Chris Powell is a freestyle swimmer from Hoschton, Ga. After graduating from Mill Creek High School as a five-time high school All-American Powell chose to attend the University of Georgia. Powell is currently in his sophomore year and is undecided on his major. He didn’t start competitive swimming until he was a freshman in high school, but instead was a member of his summer league team. Powell swam for the Athens Bulldogs Swim Club, and was coached by UG Assistant, Harvey Humphries. Powell was chosen as a member of the Georgia Zone Team two years in a row – a highly selective team chosen by time cuts and is based on a point system. He was also recruited by North Carolina State, Louisville and Louisiana State.
