After competing against one another many times throughout their young careers Simona Baumrtova of the Czech Republic and Mie Nielsen of Denmark have begun training with each other.
Earlier in the year Baumrtova joined Nielsen’s training squad in Denmark. After competing at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Orlando the Czech swimmer has remained in Florida to continue to train with the group of Danish swimmers.
In Orlando Nielsen tied Dominique Bouchard for the gold in the 100 backstroke while Baumrtova finished third in the same race.
While Baumrtova is in Florida 12 Czech athletes are on their own training camp in South Africa. 2012 Olympians Jan Micka and Barbora Zavadova are the standouts of the group who began their training camp in Stellenbosch after taking part in the SSA Grand Prix event on the weekend.
