The Americans finished 1-2 in the men’s 10k open water race at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games Sunday afternoon. Chip Peterson claimed the gold ahead of David Heron who managed to hang on for the silver medal. Ecuador’s Esteban Enderica Salgado was third.

USA Swimming announced the captains for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games team via twitter Sunday morning. Following a vote done by all the swimmers on the roster, Cullen Jones and Caitlin Leverenz were named team captains.
