Auburn Tigers Read for Tennessee Diving Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn’s divers begin 2015 at the Tennessee Diving Invitational as the Tigers head to Knoxville, Tenn., for the three-day meet.  The competition runs Saturday through Monday at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

With the 2015 SEC Championships just over a month away, the Tigers will get an early glimpse at league competition as conferences foes Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri and host Tennessee are set to compete at the event. Divers from Clemson, Drexel, Iowa State, NC State, Richmond, SMU and Towson are also scheduled to compete.

Action begins Saturday at 11 a.m. CT with preliminary rounds of the men’s 1-meter and women’s 3-meter springboard competitions. Finals will begin immediately following the conclusion of the prelim rounds. Sunday the divers will flip boards with the men taking to the 3-meter and women dropping down to the 1-meter.

Monday will feature a one-list platform final for both the men and women. Finals for the men are slated to start at 9:30 a.m. CT with the women concluding the competition at noon.

Last time out, senior Fraser McKean swept all three titles at the LSU Diving Invitational, Dec. 15-17, setting a personal best with a six-dive list of 415.40 in the men’s platform final. McKean also earned his first career SEC Diver of the Week honor for his performance at the Georgia Diving Invitational, winning the 3-meter and platform titles at the Tigers’ mid-year meet.

Junior Justin Youtsey and freshman Pete Turnham are scheduled to compete for the Tigers at the Tennessee Diving Invitational this weekend.

On the women’s side, senior Cinzia Calabretta earned her first win on tower this year with a 268.25 in the one-list final at the LSU Diving Invitational. Junior Carly Scheper and freshman Maddie Cox will represent the Auburn women at the Tennessee Diving Invitational.
