2025 Speedo Winter Junior Championships — East: Day 4 Finals Live Recap

2025 SPEEDO WINTER JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS – EAST

Day Four Finals Heat Sheet

We have made it to the final session of the 2025 Speedo Winter Junior — East Championships. Over the last four days, we have seen numerous NAG records, meet records, and new top-10 all-time swims in each age group.

Tonight’s session is a long one, with the longest event in swimming, the mile, opening the day as the fastest eight swimmers will race for the top spot.

The timeline estimates nearly four hours to complete the events, with a prompt start at 5:00 p.m. EST and an estimated end time of 8:46 p.m. once all is said and done.

Highlighting tonight’s session we have the stars of the meet: Rylee Erisman, as the top seed in the 100 free, Audrey Derivaux, as the top seed in the 200 fly, and Charlotte Crush, as the top seed in the 200 back on the girls’ side. Crush will also race the 100 free as the 2nd seed behind Erisman.

Derivaux was originally qualified in the 200 backstroke as well, but she scratched out of the final after qualifying 2nd behind Crush.

The boys’ meet will see three-event champion Baylor Stanton race three different 200s this evening with an estimated turnaround of about 40 minutes between the 200 breast and 200 butterfly, along with breakout star Collin Holgerson, in the 200 backstroke.

In the boys’ 100 freestyle, we will have a battle between the 50 free champion, Mike Rice, and the 200 free champion, Liam Carrington.

The 200 breaststroke events are led by medalists from the 100 breaststroke yesterday with gold medalist Molly Sweeney taking the top time in the girls’ event and silver medalist Ian Heysen leading the boys’.

Liam Smith is the top seed in the boys’ 200 fly as he tries to earn his first medal of the meet and hold off very close competition in David Sammons and Stanton.

We will end this session with the 400 freestyle relays where Laker Swim and Bolles School are the top seeds on the girls’ and boys’ sides respectively.

The team race will also be decided tonight. The girls’ meet is close with the TAC Titans sitting in 1st at 266.5, less than 20 points ahead of SwimMAC Carolina, who are 2nd in 249.

The boys’ race is not close with the Bolles School Sharks coming into the evening session with 417 points to lead Central Ohio Aquatics by more than 200 points. The race on the boys’ side will come between 2nd, 3rd, and 4th with COA sitting at 196, SwimAtlanta sitting at 192, and Badger Swim Club sitting at 190.

41.9 fr split (42.4 flat start), 52.4 br split, and 45.8 flat start fly. If he’s got a backstroke he’s gotta be in the running for one of the fastest HS swimmers add-up 400 IM times.

Holgerson is nuts. Also, does Colin Jacobs plan on doing NCAA? Or is he gonna stick to his training plan in France till 2028 (which is obviously working pretty well)

I’ve got nothing specific, but gotta imagine he’s serious about NCAA if he’s coming to the US to swim SCY? Just guessing

Well putting her last on a relay after a 52 split on 3red leg puts her in a non competitive situation so maybe if they put her 2nd or 3rd she might have been in competitive scenario and done better…dumb coaching move
