2:13.97 2:15.99 2:17.03 2:12.50

Douglass was faster tonight on all four of her 50s compared to this morning in prelims. She is the World Record holder in the event as well after swimming a 2:12.50 at last December’s SCM World Championships. She was slightly slower on the second 100 today compared to last December.

Last fall, Douglass raced the 200 breast at all three World Cup stops. She consistently improved, going from a 2:15.96 in Shanghai, to a 2:14.16 in Incheon, and finally to a 2:12.72 in Singapore. Her 2:12.72 was a World Record before she lowered it at Worlds. Her improvement in the event bodes well for the future stops in Westmont, Illinois and Toronto, Canada.
