Split Comparison

Kate Douglass– New US Open Record Lilly King– Old US Open Record
Kate Douglass– Best Time/Word Record
50 30.81 31.09 30.38
100 34.4 35.7 33.5
150 35.32 35.75 34.19

The biggest difference was that Douglass was faster than King on the first three 50s, with the second 50 being the largest difference as Douglass was 1.3 seconds faster.

Douglass is the World Record holder in the event as she posted a 2:12.50 last December at the SCM World Championships. Prior to breaking the World Record at the 2024 SCM World Championships, Douglass had already broken the record posting a 2:12.72 during last year’s World Cup Series. The previous World Record was a 2:14.57.

This past summer, she captured the LCM World title in the 200 breast posting a lifetime best 2:18.50. That swim also was the #2 performance of all-time and she looks to continue her momentum into the fall at the three stop series. Douglass was the top overall swimmer on the women’s side of the series last year.
