Mason Manta Rays Breaks 17-18 NAG Record With 4:07.13 Girls 400 Medley Relay

2025 U.S. Junior National Championships

The Mason Manta Rays relay of Maya Schweikert, Addie Robillard, Taylor Bacher, and Bella Teply swam to a new national age group (NAG) record in the girls 17-18 400 medley relay. The team swam to a 4:07.13 for 3rd at Summer Juniors in Irvine, getting under the previous record of a 4:08.71 set in 2022 by TAC Titans at the Futures Championships in Cary.

Mason Manta Rays’ dropped over two seconds off their seed time of a 4:09.85 today. The two relays that finished ahead of them had swimmers in the 15-16 age group, thus fitting them under the 15-18 relay category for NAG records.

The biggest difference today was the breaststroke split as Addie Robillard split a 1:08.60. That was almost a second faster than her flat start time of a 1:09.47 that she swam for 4th in the individual event earlier this week. Robillard is the #13 ranked recruit in the girls high school class of 2025 and is headed to Stanford this fall.

Maya Schweikert‘s lead off leg of a 1:02.18 was also faster than the previous record split. It marked a best time for Schweikert as well as her best time was a 1:02.20 that she swam for 28th at US Summer Nationals in June. She swam a 1:02.28 earlier this week in Irvine. She is committed to NC State for fall 2026.

I have always thought relay records should be 18&u, 16-u, 14&u, 12&u, 10&u

For individual events I wish we had single age records. Plenty of depth of competition these days, it would be cool to see the progression.
