Her swim this morning of 2:06.40 was a new world leading time for this year, surpassing Australian Brittany Casteluzzo’s 2:07.75. She widened that gap tonight, setting a new PSS record in the event and dropping two-and-a-half seconds from prelims with her finals time of 2:04.00.

Regan Smith, who finished 2nd in the event, held the previous record at 2:04.80 from last year’s edition of this meet.

Her swim tonight was the 2nd fastest she has ever been, only after the 2:03.03 she went to win the Olympic gold in Paris last summer. It is also the 8th fastest performance in history in the event.

The 200 butterfly is the last remaining supersuit World Record for women, and McIntosh is the only swimmer who has been within two seconds of Zige Liu‘s time of 2:01.81 since 2009.
