Gretchen Walsh on Last ACC Champs: “I feel like It hit me half way through the meet”

2025 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships

Gretchen Walsh won swimmer of the meet at her final ACC Championships, sweeping her individual events (3) and relays (4) as well as setting a new ACC record in the 200 free while leading off the 800 free relay. With that record, it meant the UVA women held every single ACC record, a feat that Walsh noted she was particularly proud of being a part of.

GW is the greatest yard swimmer I have ever seen. Whatever UV relay that she is on will probably set a record that will take years to break.

To clarify, is she eligible for a 5th year? If yes, is she just choosing not to use it?

She is not eligible, because she did not compete in the 2020-2021 NCAA season.
