Head Coach – Topeka Swim Association
Topeka Swim Association (TSA) is seeking an experienced swim coach to fill our full-time Head Coach position our growing competitive swim program in Topeka, Kansas. A successful candidate for this position should be a dynamic and inspiring leader, who is passionate about swimming, and capable of motivating and guiding our athletes to identify and reach their goals and potential, creating a unified and engaged coaching staff, and promoting open communication within our organization and the greater Topeka swim community.
TSA is a USAS year-round competitive swim team program offering superior professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member with an opportunity to improve their swimming skills and achieve success at their level of ability, from novice to international competitor. TSA incorporates active swim school and master’s programs. Practices and hosted meets are held at the Capital Federal Natatorium, one of the premier swimming facilities in the Midwest, and the Blaisdell Family Aquatic Center. The Natatorium features a 50-meter pool with a movable bulkhead to accommodate two 25-yard pools, a separate 4-lane 25-yard pool, and houses the TSA offices. Blaisdell offers a 50-meter outdoor pool, primarily used for practices during June and July.
TSA’s Head Coach is responsible for all levels of our swimming program and represents TSA both on-deck and at appropriate LSC governing body meetings. This includes assigning swimmers to the appropriate practice groups, coaching, providing feedback to athletes and parents, and taking an active role in retaining and recruiting athletes. The Head Coach oversees the hiring, supervision and assignment of duties to the assistant coaches. The Head Coach is responsible for fostering and maintaining relationships affiliated with TSA in the greater Topeak and Missouri Valley Swimming community.
This position is immediately available. Prior experience as a Head Coach or Head Age Group Coach is preferred. We are looking for an ASCA Level III or higher equivalent coach though not a pre-requisite for consideration. The initial salary is $60,000 plus bonus options, with insurance and 401(k) benefits. Employment contract length is negotiable.
