On Saturday, the 2022 Tennessee Invite closed off with racing in the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 200 back. Some highlights from the last session of the meet included Kate Douglass‘ 2:01.87 in the 200 breast, which breaks her own NCAA, American, and U.S. Open record from 2022 NCAAs. Other notable swims included Gretchen Walsh‘s 46.89 100 free, Josephine Fuller‘s breakout 1:50.12 200 back, the UVA womens’ and Tennessee mens’ 400 free relays, and more.

Most efficient glide in the NCAA right now, maybe ever
Her distance per stroke is so good (5-6 per length). Just looking at her pullouts compared to Walsh’s, I wonder if she should wait an extra half second before starting her dolphin kick. Seems like Walsh catches her on the glide
Walsh catches her on her pull down. Usually it’s a little technique but mostly strength. I’m guessing Walsh is just stronger than she is.
Taking out your 200 breast within half a second of your best 100 breast is the definition of aggressive.
Right, when I tried that I’d come back 12 plus seconds slower
