Study Up On Short Course World Championships Day 3 Heat Sheets

2021 FINA SHORT COURSE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

We’ve seen two days’ worth of action at these 2021 FINA Short Course World Championships and we’ve already been treated to Records, national records and first-time world champions here in Abu Dhabi.

Looking to tomorrow’s schedule, the lineup includes the men’s 100m IM, 50m back, 50m free and 200m breast along with the women’s 50m fly, 100m IM and 200m back heats. Plus, we’ll see the mixed medley relays in action.

In terms of scratches, the only notable name missing between psychs and entires for day 3 heats is that of Hungarian Adam Telegdy in the men’s 50m back.

We have seen a few swimmers having to cut their championships short to the tune of Tom Dean of GBR due to COVID-19 contact tracing, as well as the entire Singaporean squad being sent home.

Save any other swimmer who may be pulled at the last second, the fields for day 3 heats remain intact.

Looks like MA had a couple more unremarkable swims. The kid should just retire.🗑

Canada not entering a mixed 4×50 medley is interesting. Have to think they would have been solid contenders for the podium

Funny though, if he was on the team their best option may have been Acevedo for breast. He had some decent 50 and 100 splits for LA current so the a team of Masse, Acevedo, Liendo, Sanchez/MacNeil could have been competitive for a medal…

Anyone else never have a Yakult product in their life despite seeing it advertised in swimming for years?

I think it very much depends on where you live. If you live in Asia, you’ve probably had one. If you live in Latin America, maybe you do. If you live in the western, midwestern, or southern united states, maybe. If you live in the Eastern United States, you only recently became a market for the product.

If you’re in Europe, it’s a longshot – a longer shot if you live outside of the UK or Netherlands.

(I just spent 15 minutes investigating market availability and sales of a probiotic yogurt drink. What am I doing with my life?)

You are living the dream Braden – and FYI it was big here in Aus in the 90s when it likely launched. Less so now. But still very recognisable.
