Butterfly and backstroke specialist Peyton Farrell has committed to swim for Ohio University’s class of 2024. The Beavercreek High School senior said, “I chose OU because as soon as I walked on campus, I felt welcomed bythe students, the coaches, and the team. I could truly see myselfbeing challenged in both the classroom and in the pool while beingsurrounded by the most supportive people. OU OH YEAH!”
Farrell has been a member of Beavercreek High School varsity swim team since her freshman year. During her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, she qualified for the Ohio Division 1 State Championships. She placed 8th in the 100 fly as a sophomore (56.38) and again as a junior (56.05).
At the club level, Farrell swims for the Coffman Family YMCA in Springboro, OH. In 2018, she earned a spot on the podium at the YMCA Long Course National Championships, finishing in 8th place in the 100 fly.
Farrell’s best times have qualified her for the 2019 Futures meet in the 200 fly and the 100 and 200 back, and for the 2019 Speedo Winter Junior Nationals in the 100 fly.

In the fall, Farrell will join her new teammates at the Ohio University Aquatic Center. She will be the team’s top 100 flier and their 3rd fastest swimmer in the 200 fly behind Madeline Marks and Sam Glass. She will be joining Morgan Croaning, Abbie Duncan, Gabrielle Brust, and Mollie Brackett for the 2020-2021 season.
Aside from swimming, Farrell has coached and taught swim lessons for the last three summers at Idle Hour Swim Club. Additionally, she self-published her first book last summer on Amazon titled “The Self-Proclaimed Psychopath” under the pseudonym Vie Vitske.
