Stephen’s swimming journey has taken him all across the Southeastern United States. Starting out at the Flowood, MS based Sunkist Swim Team, he made the transition to Auburn, AL where he competed the remainder of his high school years with Auburn Aquatics.
His college career began at Daytona State College under the tutelage of Don Gibb. After finishing two years with the now terminated program, Stephen left the shores of Daytona Beach for a DII program that was starting its inaugural year in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
Stephen completed his time at Carson-Newman University as a school record holder in several events and was one of the first in the program’s history to compete at NCAA’s while earning All-American honors. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and is pursuing a career in digital media.
He coaches for Auburn Aquatics and operates as the digital media specialist for CareerKwest USA, a workforce development and career coaching consultant. He begins his graduate degree in the fall in Auburn University’s Technical and Professional Communication program.
He is a lover of full-bodied coffee, Star Wars memorabilia, and Netflix binges.
