With some key graduations depleting their breaststroke corps, the Georgia Bulldogs added a verbal commitment from Chattahoochee Gold’s Lexi Glunn to help reload for 2016.
Glunn is an in-state prospect, coming out of Lester High School in Marietta, Georgia, where she’s a multi-time finalist at the Georgia 6A State Championships.
She also competes for Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club, where she won the Georgia Long Course State title in the 200 breast this past summer.
Glunn’s Top Times
- 100 yard breast: 1:03.87
- 200 yard breast: 2:17.57
- 200 yard IM: 2:04.30
- 100 meter breast: 1:12.42
- 200 meter breast: 2:36.70
- 200 meter IM: 2:21.17
Glunn is coming off a great summer in which she hit those lifetime-bests in the 100 breast and 200 IM, which suggests her short course times might be rising to that level or above this coming short course season.
Glunn is a key pickup for Georgia, which will see massive turnover in its breaststroke group this year and next. Individual SEC scorers Shannon O’Malley and Olivia Boggs both graduated last spring, and Annie Zhu, third in the 200 breast at the SEC level last year, will graduate after this season.
That will leave Emily Cameron as the only breaststroker on the roster with SEC scoring experience, and she will be a senior when Glunn arrives as a rookie next fall.
