WASHINGTON, Pa. — Head coach Matt Rochna has announced the hiring of Yana Miletska as the new intern for the Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving program.
Miletska was a four-year member and highly accomplished swimmer at Edinboro University, a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in NCAA Division II.
“I’m beyond excited to welcome Yana to the W&J Swimming & Diving family, said Rochna. “Yana brings diverse experience both as an international swimmer and as a very accomplished student-athlete at Edinboro University to our team.”
Miletska received All-American status in the 200 Yard Breaststroke from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) this past season.
The Kiev, Ukraine native earned All-PSAC honors seven times and holds school records in both the 200 Yard Breaststroke and the 200 Medley Relay.
She qualified and was set to compete in the 200 Breaststroke at the National Championship meet in mid-March. However, the final two days of competition were canceled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). She had placed fourth at the PSAC Championships in the event and came into Nationals seeded 23rd with a time of 2:17.87.
“The former Division II All-American will be able to help our program to continue to grow with her butterfly, breaststroke, and I.M. expertise,” Rochna said. “I can’t wait to watch her grow as a collegiate coach while helping our student-athletes continue to exceed in
the classroom, pool, and community.”
Yana recently earned her bachelor of science in Business Administration from Edinboro. Additionally, she had a minor in Athletic Coaching.
