St. Petersburg Aquatics has turned out a number of very famous, national-profile alumni. For the better part of the last decade, that has included several swimmers as one would expect: including National Team swimmer Melanie Margalis, a centerpiece of the last two NCAA team titles for the Georgia women; and Megan Romano, an American Record holder and World Champion.

Now there’s a third M making national news, and it’s Macy Kate, who on the auditions of the ABC series the Rising Star had the highest percentage of votes from the audience of any contestant. She was a Nationally-ranked swimmer once upon a time and was a member of St. Petersburg Aquatics along with Margalis and Romano.

Above, watch as the two swim stars wish the song-star good luck!

Her journey will continue on Sunday night, and she is currently featured on the site’s headline image for her battle against another very talented singer: Gabrielle Nicole.

On Saturday night, Macy Kate took over SwimSwam’s Snapchat account to have a little fun with our swim audience, but now it’s time for her to get down to business. Ok, she’ll probably be having a little fun too. But most importantly, she needs votes.

If you haven’t done so yet, download the Rising Star app from the App store and tune in to vote for Macy Kate! The show airs at 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM Central, amd 7 PM Mountain, time on ABC.
