USA Swimming Names Full Pan Pacific Championships Coaching Staff

In April of this year, Bob Bowman and Teri McKeever were named the men’s and women’s head coaches by USA Swimming. Today, USA Swimming announced the addition of several coaches to the Pan Pacific Championships staff.

Bob Bowman named Alex Braunfield (Georgia), Rick Demont (Arizona), and Yuri Sugiyama (California) to his Pan Pacs staff as assistant coaches. Bob Bowman originally asked California Head Coach Dave Durden to join his staff, however, Suguiyama is going in his stead so Coach Durden can handle some family matters back home.

During the 2013-14 NCAA season, Suguiyama was named the College Swimming Coaches Association of America’s Assistant Coach of the Year. He was also the coached Katie Ledecky for six years prior to winning her first Olympic Gold medal at the age of 15.

Teri McKeever named David Marsh (SwimMAC), Bruce Gemmell (Nation’s Capital), and Greg Meehan (Stanford) to her staff as assistant coaches.

Catherine Vogt (USC) and Dave Kelsheimer (Team Santa Monica) will be the open water coaches for the Pan Pacific Championships.
