Emma Pecha of the Memphis Tiger Swim Club in Tennessee has verbally committed to join the Rhode Island Rams next fall. The high school senior at St. Agnes Academy was a two-time finalist at the 2014-15 Tennessee State Championships, placing 4th in the 200-yard free (1:52.54) and 6th in the 500-yard free (4:59.32). She also has qualifying cuts for the Future Championships in the 200-yard and 500-yard free.

Pecha’s best times in SCY are:

  • 50 free: 25.15
  • 100 free: 53.56
  • 200 free: 1:52.56
  • 500 free: 4:58.00
  • 1000 free: 10:24.73
  • 1650 free: 18:02.69

Last season, Pecha’s best times in the 200-yard, 500-yard and 1000-yard free would have all been the 2nd fastest in the Rams 2014-15 season best and her 100-yard free time would have been 4th fastest. She would have also made an impact at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Conference Championships, where her best 500-yard free time would have placed her 8th in the A-final and her best 200-yard free would have placed her 6th in the B final.

Pecha will join new teammates; breaststroker Cassidy Fries and versatile swimmer Caitlin Guccione in the Rams class of 2020.
