The Netherlands, Hungary, Greece and Australia claimed the final four spots in the women’s water polo quarterfinals at the World Championships.
The American women beat one of their biggest rivals, the Dutch women 12-9 in group play on Tuesday at the World Championships.
The United States kept itself atop Group B with a crushing 15-4 win over Canada. Italy, meanwhile, edged out the Netherlands 8-7, firmly planting itself in the Group A lead with six points.
After beating Spain 11 to 4 in their opening Group B match in Rio, the U.S. Olympic Women’s Water Polo Team did away with their second opponents in similar fashion, taking down China 12 to 2 to move to 2-0 in pool play.
