PIERO CODIA Classe 1989, triestino, Piero Codia è un ragazzo molto riservato e timido. Una carriera esplosa in ritardo rispetto quello che siamo abituati a vedere, ma che il segna il futuro dello stile farfalla italiano. La prima medaglia internazionale arriva agli Europei del 2012 con la staffetta 4x100 mista. Seguirà l'argento agli Europei di Londra, sempre in staffetta. In quella edizione degli Europei si fermò ad un passo dal podio, siglando due quarti posti nelle gare individuali. Il 2018 di Piero Codia E' durante la stagione 2017/2018 che Piero Codia riesce a far emergere tutte le sue potenzialità. Ai Campionati Europei in vasca corta di Copenhagen Piero Codia conquista la sua prima medaglia internazionale individuale nei 100 metri farfalla, sfiorando l'oro per tre centesimi di secondo. L’atleta tesserato per CC Aniene ed Esercito ed allenato da Alessandro D’Alessandro in quella occasione dichiarò: “Volevo la medaglia di qualsiasi colore. Sapevo di avere anche le possibilità di vincere; eravamo tutti raccolti in pochi decimi. In corsia esterna ho disputato una buona gara, lontano dall’attenzione, con un passaggio veloce. E’ la prima doppietta nel delfino per l’Italia e ne siamo orgogliosi”. Ai Giochi Del Mediterraneo 2018 Piero Codia vince l'oro nella gara dei 100 mt farfalla con il tempo di 52.25, e scalda i motori per quello …
