Swims You Might’ve Missed On Day 2 Of The 2025 Sacramento Pro Swim Series

2025 Pro Swim Series — Sacramento

Day two of the 2025 Sacramento Pro Swim Series featured numerous fast performances from some of the best swimmers in the world. However, they weren’t the only ones who swam fast—there were other impressive swims from athletes who might not be as well-known.

Here are some standout performances that may not have made big waves in our live recaps but still deserve to be highlighted:

15-year-old Mikayla Tan shaved 62 hundredths off her personal best in the 100 breaststroke during prelims, posting a time of 1:10.83, surpassing her previous best of 1:11.45. The Singaporean representative then hacked off almost another full second in the finals, touching in 1:09.98 for 6th place.

Lakeside Aquatic Club’s Kennedi Southern, just 14 years old, clocked 30.66 to qualify for the ‘A’ final of the women’s 50 backstroke. It was a personal best by a significant margin, as she shattered her previous career mark of 31.91, set at last summer’s Texas Age Group Swimming Championships. She leveled up again in the finals, hitting the wall in 7th place with a sub-30 effort of 29.97.

36-year-old Brandon Fischer is still in the mix, as he clocked 1:02.16 in the 100 breast prelims. He ultimately faded to 5th in the ‘B’ final with a time of 1:03.05, about a second slower than his morning swim. His personal best is 59.86, set at the 2019 Clovis stop of the Pro Swim Series. Fischer competed at his fifth Olympic Trials last summer and is balancing a full-time job as a mechanical technologist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, home of the National Ignition Facility, which is at the forefront of nuclear fusion breakthroughs.

Three-time French Olympian Beryl Gastaldello, known for her sprint prowess, competed in the 200 free. She put up a swift 2:00.17 in the ‘A’ final, touching 4th overall. Although she has not focused on this event in recent years, she was not far from her personal best of 1:59.92, set at the 2019 French National Championships.

Former Texas swimmer Alec Enyeart, after setting a massive personal best in the 800 free last night, notched a time of 1:50.15 in the 200 free to win the ‘B’ final. His personal best in the event remains 1:49.17, set at the 2022 NCSA Summer Swimming Championships. The 21-year-old’s performances today marked his first recorded times in the event since June 2023, when he threw down a time of 1:51.00 at the U.S. National Championships. His ‘B’ final time is also his fastest since August 2022, when he clocked 1:49.32 at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships.

No joke, I read the headline and predicted almost this exact same comment from you, Randy. Glad you didn’t disappoint. I’m enjoying the MartyT alter ego, keep up the good work.
