Provisional Worlds Swimming Entries Available on FINA App

All of the provisional entries for the upcoming 2017 World Championships in Budapest are available on the FINA mobile app. On the app store, simply search ‘FINA’ and it should be the first app to come up. Or, click here to be taken to the app on iTunes.

The most exciting thing about this app, for now, is the access it gives users to provisional entries for Worlds. While a psych sheet has not yet been released, this is as close as it’s going to get. In the app, go to ‘Events’ (the first tab on the bottom left), and then scroll down to find the 17th FINA World Championships. In this section, you can see news, the medal table, events, and a social tab.

On the events tab, you can click through each event– if the event has already concluded, you can see who won medals, and the full results for that event. Since all of the pool swimming has yet to be contested, the entries per country are available for viewing when you click on each swimming event. We’ve already done some analysis on these entries, including quick profiles on Katinka Hosszu‘s schedule and Mireia Belmonte‘s schedule.

FINA has also rolled out an app specifically for the Budapest World Champs, with the app being named ‘Budapest 2017.’ The app asks you to choose three or more area of interest about the city, anything from dining, to night life, to a city guide, so as to streamline user experience. Included in the app is a full schedule that you can click through per day, as well as a tab for all of the medals and a tab for recent news.
