ANN ARBOR, Mich. – No. 10 Indiana fell to No. 5 Hawai’I before bouncing back to win the finale of the Michigan Invitational against No. 22 Marist on Sunday at Canham Natatorium.
KEY MOMENTS
- A pair of goals from senior attacker Tina Doherty paced the Hoosiers early in the first quarter, recording a hat trick with four seconds to go in the opening quarter which gave her team a 3-2 lead.
- Hawaii would outscore Indiana, 6-2, in the second quarter and take an 8-5 lead at the break. IU mustered up just three goals to the ‘Bows seven in the second half as they posted the 15-8 victory.
- In the final game of the invitational, Indiana went up early thanks to two goals from freshman attacker Skylar Kidd. Marist equalized the game in the first at the 2:33mark but Indiana would go on to score six unanswered goals.
- In all, IU (5-3) outscored Marist, 6-2, in the second quarter and pushed its halftime lead to 12-4. Kidd would put up an impressive performance with five goals against the #22 Red Foxes.
