Fifty Years Ago: ISHOF Remembers JFK

Kennedy had been a swimmer at Harvard when Kiphuth was coaching Yale. Swimming helped JFK survive WWII and become the war hero that helped launch his political career. He also swam in the White House pool almost every day to relieve his chronic bad back.

Romano, Dwyer top money-earners on Arena Grand Prix circuit after Minneapolis

Megan Romano leads all money-earners after one stop of the Arena Grand Prix circuit, taking in a neat $2000 for four wins in Minneapolis. The top earner on the men’s side is Conor Dwyer, who picked up $1600 for two wins and two second places.

Wrightsville Beach to Host 2014 USA Swimming Open Water Nationals

The 10-kilometer national championship will be contested June 13, followed by the 5K on June 15. The Sandhills Sandsharks swim team and the North Carolina Swimming LSC will serve as hosts for the meet.
