KSA Ne Age-Group Events Me Aur Categories Add Ki – Indian Swim News

Paris Olympics ke liye kisi bhi Indian swimmer dwara qualifying mark attain karne me fail hone ke karan ye sports phir se shuruaati sthiti me pahonch gaya, Olympic me jagah banane ke liye ab Universality Place par depend rahna pad raha hai. Karnataka Swimming Association ne aur adhik talent ko identify karne and younger swimmers ko opportunities dene ke ke liye state championships me age-group system me change Kiya hai.

Friday ko, state sub-junior and junior swimming championships ki shuruaat hui, jisme 980 se jada swimmers ne participate kiya. Isse pahle age-group competition 3 categories me aayojit ki jaati thi-Group I (15-17 years), Group II (12-14 years) and Group III (10-11 years). Iss saal se har group ko further divide Kiya gaya hai taaki ye ensure kiya ja sake ki same age ke swimmers ko ak saath rakha jaaye. For example, Group II ko group II-A (12 Years), B(13 Years) and C(14 Years) me divide Kiya gaya hai.

Format ke change ke baare me baat karte huye, KSA secretary M Satish Kumar ne kaha, “ye change lambe time se pending tha. Changes ke pichhe kai thought process hain. Hum chahte hain ki ak greater talent pool ho aur aisa karne ka ak main tarika competitive opportunities ko badhana hai. Iske alawa, for example 14-17 years ki age group me unme se kuchh ke liye discourse hone ki tendency hoti hai jab we match up nahi kar paate hain.”

Iss event ka first test 26-28 May ko held ak mock state meet me kiya gaya tha. “iss event ke liye logon ka reaction encouraging tha aur isi wajah se hume iss saal ye naya format introduce karne ke liye prerit kiya gaya.”

Iss saal state meet ko 4 din se badhakar 7 din kar diya gaya aur number of events 118 se  increase hokar 250 ho gayi hai. According to Satish, iss saal participation 10% tak increase hui hai. Ye change Karnataka tak limited hai and Swimming Federation of India existing age group competitions ko continue rakhega.

“ KSA se hum maante hain ki ye aage badhne ka tarika hai aur hum iss saal federation ki Annual General Body meeting me iss model ko pesh karenge,” Satish ne conclude kiya.
