The Iron Lady once again had a jam-packed schedule yesterday, swimming the 400IM, 200m backstroke and 200m freestyle. After going 1.57.25 in the 200m free, Hosszu admitted that at this point in the season when in full training, it’s sometimes hard to go fast. Another topic of conversation was Minna Atherton’s near World Record in the 200m backstroke, where she touched just 0.02 outside Katinka’s 2014 record of 1.59.23. She spoke about how, although it is hard to see other athletes moving closer to her records, it’s motivation to keep swimming faster.

After day 1 of this European Derby, it is virtually impossible for Team Iron to qualify for the ISl final in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. But not going down without a fight is what it’s all about for them now. After admitting that day one is usually their weaker day of racing, the team captain and ISL ambassador said she’s looking forward to an even faster day racing tomorrow
