The Mission Viejo Nadadores Swim school is actively seeking applicants for the position as Site Supervisor/Coach, to begin duties on September 1st, 2020. We are looking for enthusiastic coaches who can make swimming fulfilling and relevant for both pre-competitive and recreational swimmers. A successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and able to work independently and also within dynamic situations. An ability to implement a drylands program is critical for our age-group simmers. Willingness to follow all current USA Swimming and Mission Viejo Nadadores rules & regulations is a must.
How to Apply
Must be 16 years and older and must be able to swim 100 Individual Medley continuously.
Water safety practices.
Effective customer service techniques.
Teach proper swimming techniques and water safety to youth and adults inside and outside of the water.
Respond and handle emergency incidents in an appropriate manner.
Perform lifesaving techniques.
Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with our employees and the public.
Swim with proficiency and endurance.
Provide effective customer service.
Lifeguarding, first aid and CPR techniques.
Reading, writing and communicating in English at an appropriate level.
Basic computer operations with applicable software.
Education, Training and Experience:
Currently enrolled in high school or the equivalent.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid American Red Cross or State recognized certificate in the following:
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider).
- Lifeguard Training.
- First Aid.
- Water Safety Instructor.
- Obtain a valid work permit, if applicable.
- USA Swimming, ASCA, SwimAmerica certifications are preferred.
- Concussion Course completion upon hiring.
- Sexual Harassment completion upon hiring.

SELECTION PROCESS: All applicants will be reviewed and only those candidates determined to be most qualified on the basis of experience, training and education, as submitted, will be invited to participate further in the selection process.
Following the application review, the most qualified candidates will be invited by Swim School Director for further evaluation which may include demonstration of the ability to physically perform the duties of the position.
BACKGROUND SCREENING: Candidates who have successfully completed all prior phases of the selection process will be subject to a thorough background screening.
