Athlete Development

Waterloo Swimming is a USA Swimming Silver Medal swim club located in North Austin, TX. Currently operating out of two locations: one 50M Olympic-sized pool and one 25Y pool, WLOO is home to just over 450 athletes ranging from Olympic Trials qualifiers to beginning club swimmers.
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable swim coach to direct and lead our developmental 10U group. This group ranges in age from 6-10. The swimmers in this group are looking to build the fundamentals in all four strokes, learn about competitive swimming, and aiming to achieve B times on the USA National Age Group Motivational Time Standards.
Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate technique-driven processes in their practice writing and season plan as well speak about their experience in developing athletes, administrative work off-deck, and effectively communicating with athletes, parents, and staff.
We believe the best coaches have had experience at all levels of our sport, and it is our goal to provide that education to our entire staff. Each WLOO coach has the opportunity to work with multiple groups in our program as well as take the lead on team projects such as meet management, clinic operations, parent education or new swimmer outreach to further help build their resumes.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Seasonal & Year-Round Private Swimming Instructor to join our team in New York. The role includes:
- July and August: 4 hours per day of in-home swimming instruction in the Hamptons.
- Rest of the year: A few hours per week of in-home instruction in Manhattan.
This is a flexible, location-based role that requires the ability to travel to client residences and adapt to a seasonal schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, one-on-one swimming lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.
- Travel to private residences in the Hamptons and Manhattan for scheduled lessons.
- Maintain a professional and safe environment at all times.
- Follow all safety and instructional protocols, including pre-lesson checks and post-lesson communication.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents when appropriate.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a swimming instructor with a strong track record in private or semi-private lessons.
- Certifications required:
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
- Lifeguarding (e.g., American Red Cross or equivalent)
- CPR and AED certification
- Ability to commute to the Hamptons during July and August and to teach in Manhattan during the rest of the year.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
