Daland Swim School is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Aquatics Director to join our team!

Summary: To thrive in this role you must have a background of progressive aquatics experience leading to the oversight and management of multiple team members, previous experience maintaining the functions of an aquatics department, and the ability to successfully prioritize and respond to a variety of tasks including the emergency response to members and visitors in the pool. You must have the ability to engage and direct others as well as provide instructions and assessments to staff and members in the pool.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage 20-45 Swim instructors year round.
  • Adhere to aquatic safety standards and guidelines.
  • Plan and organize staff schedules.
  • Hire, train, elevate and evaluate Swim instructors
  • Oversee the organization, implementation, administration, promotion and evaluation of our aquatics classes and programs
  • Develop flyers, brochures, advertisements, etc. to promote aquatic programing
  • Recommend changes to existing aquatic programs as needed.
  • Conduct various aquatic entertainments and activities to attract more customers.
  • Assist in research, facilitation and building quality aquatic programs that provide customer satisfaction.
  • Provide information about aquatics programs to schools, recreation officials, community service groups, and the general public.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • 3-5 years or relevant experience, preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard certified or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Enthusiastic presence and ability to appropriately encourage and guide youth and adults to reach their goals.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check.
  • Certificates and Licenses: American Red Cross Lifeguard certified or ability to obtain within 6 months. We provide all needed training and offer the required certifications at our facility.

Schedule: Weekdays, Weekend Availability
