Gandhinagar, All India Civil Services Swimming Championship 2024-25 ko host kar raha hai, jisme 13 states, 12 regional sports boards and 4 Union Territories ke 409 athletes and officials participate karenge.
5 March se 7 March tak chalane wale iss three-day event ka inauguration Wednesday ko Secretariat Gymkhana me Gujarat Government ke General Administration Department (GAD) ke saath Chief Secretary Kamal Dayani ne kiya. Ye 6th time hai jab Gujarat ne championship ko host kiya hai.
Ye event government employees ke beech sports ko promote karne ke liye Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board (CCSCSB) ki initiative ka part hai. Gujarat ne pahle table tennis, volleyball, kabaddi, chess and badminton jaise sports me national tournament held kiye hain. State government sports infrastructure me bhi actively invest kar rahi hai, various districts me sports complexes ko develop kar rahi hai aur athletic talent ko identify karne aur unhe promote karne ke liye Khel Mahakumbh ko held kar rahi hai.
Iss beech, Khel Mahakumbh ne grassroots par sports ko promote karne me crucial role play kiya, aur rural and urban areas se lakhs of athletes ke participation ko attract kiya hai.
State ne kai high-profile sporting events ko host kiya hai, jisme National Games 2022 shaamil hai, jisme Gujarat ne 76 medals jeete aur Narendra Modi Stadium me international cricket matches jo 13 lakh spectators ke baithne ki capacity wala world ka largest cricket stadium hai. Gujarat ne Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Complex, TransStadia Arena and EKA Arena sahit world-class sports infrastructure ke development me bhi stride ki hai.
Government ne specialised training centres and scholarships provide karke athletics, swimming, kabaddi and wrestling jaise sports me participation ko encourage kiya hai. Iske alawa, Gujarat ne Axar Patel & Jasprit Bumrah and chess grandmaster Tejas Bakre jaise renowned athletes produce kiye hain.
