Texas’ Joseph Schooling, the NCAA Record holder, may have scratched tonight’s 200 fly final, but we’ll get to see him go for the Big 12 100 free record on the leadoff leg of the 400 free relay.
Townley Haas, last year’s NCAA champion in the 500 and 200 free, will be tackling some tough teammates in the 100 free today, the final day of the 2017 Big 12 championships.
One of the big races to watch is the men’s 100 fly, where Texas All-Americans Joseph Schooling and Jack Conger will go head-to-head.
Big 12 Conference Record holder Will Licon and Big 12 Meet Record holder Jonathan Roberts will square off in the 400 IM.
On the final night of competition at the 2017 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, Texas’ Jack Conger defended his 200 fly title in Meet Record fashion.
Licon threw down a 1:49.89 in front of the home crowd, successfully defending his Big 12 title and topping the field by 5 seconds with a new Big 12 Meet Record.
Texas’ Tasija Karosas completed a successful sweep of the backstroke titles at the 2017 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, winning gold in a Big 12 Meet Record time of 1:51.11.
Swimming fans will miss out on a Joseph Schooling vs. Jack Conger battle in the 200 fly in tonight’s finals session at the 2017 Big 12 Championships, as Schooling has scratched out of finals.
Schooling shot off the blocks, securing gold in a blazing 18.76. With that, he took down Jimmy Feigen’s former Big 12 Conference Record of 18.84 in the event.
