GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina women’s swimming and diving has hired Anna Pfeiffer to its staff as an assistant coach, according to an announcement from head coach Matthew Jabs on Friday.
Pfeiffer comes to Greenville after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant at Ball State. While with the Cardinals, she helped the men’s and women’s teams rewrite the record book, with a combined 24 new school records, six individual gold medals and three conference records at the conference championships for the 2025-26 season. On the women’s side, the team achieved its highest conference finish in 28 years and had its first NCAA Qualifier, Payton Kelly, in 13 years.
Previous to Ball State, Pfeiffer had a high-level club experience working with several Olympic Trial qualifiers and a Junior Pan Pac Gold Medalist. Her coaching stints on the club side include time with the Iowa Flyers Swim Club and the Dubuque Area Swimmin’ Hurricanes.
As an athlete, Pfeiffer competed at Iowa, where she was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a four-time competitor and point scorer at the Big Ten Women’s Conference Championships.
Originally from Peosta, Iowa, Pfeiffer graduated with her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Iowa in 2024 before completing her master’s degree in sport administration from Ball State in 2026.
