West Virginia University has added another to its growing 2020 class with distance pick up, Robert Wylie. He trains with the Athens Bulldog Swim Club under Harvey Humphries, who also serves as the Senior Associate Head Coach at the University of Georgia. He swims for the Oconee High Warriors of Waktinsville, GA during the high school competition season.

The Mountaineers will appreciate the Georgian’s knack for the longer free events. Wylie joins their distance group with 500 and 1650 yard free times that can contend for points in the Big 12 Conference.

“I chose WVU because it was a great fit for me academically and athletically. Go mountaineers!”

EVENT SCY LCM

Wylie had a good campaign as an Oconee High Warrior in February of this year, finishing twice in the top 8 at the Georgia 1-5A State Championships. A month later he dove in at the 2015 NC Speedo Champions Series to post his personal bests in both the 1000 and 1650 yard freestyles. Just coming off a solid long course season, Wylie will look to improve his distance times during his senior year while having a spot guaranteed for him on the 2016-17 Mountaineer roster.
