Granville, Ohio- Opening its 2025-26 home meet campaign, the Denison women’s swimming team beat Division I Xavier University by a score of 153-108. The Big Red are now 2-0 against Xavier and finished the day with 24 top-three finishes, including two first-place relay wins and seven individual first-place finishes.
Top performers:
Leading the first-place finish point total was Drue Thielking, who notched three first-place finishes across the day. Thielking took first in the 100 breast (1:04.89 | 9pts), the 200 breast (2:21.12 | 9pts), and finally in the 200 IM, swam a 2:11.22 for first. Quinn Brown would be just behind Thielking in individual top finishes after taking first in the 1000 free (10:28.95 | 9 pts) and swam a 5:05.53 500 free to earn her second first-place finish of the day. Rounding out the top finishers would be Reilly O’Hara, who earned first in the 200 free (1:55.36), and Jassy Park, who swam the 100 back in 57.44 seconds for first place.
Denison would also finish first in the 200 medley relay as well as the 400 free relay. In the 200 medley relay, Park, Thielking, Phoebe Ferguson, and Maddie Schaefer finished with a time of 1:44:91. And in the 400 free relay, Emily Harris, Phoebe Ferguson, Avery Anderson, and Hailey Kaminski took first after swimming it in 3:34.53.

Granville, Ohio- In its first official home meet of the 2025-26 season, the men’s swimming team beat Division I Xavier University by a score of 168-94. The Big Red are now 2-0 against Xavier and finished the day with 27 top-three finishes, including a sweep in the 100-yd breaststroke and 200-yd freestyle.
Top performers:
Four Big Red swimmers finished with two first-place finishes. The first of the four was George Goins, who finished first in the 1000 free with a time of 9:35.11. Goins would later go on to swim the 500 free in 4:42.58 for his second, first-place finish of the day. Jack Hill joined Goins as a two-time first-place finisher, after finishing in the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:40.07, and then again in the 100 free (47.70). Liam Nelson tacked on another pair of first-place finishes after winning the 100 breast in 56.79 seconds, followed by a 2:05.10 in the 200 breast. Rounding out the four top swimmers of the weekend is Luke Swiggett, who took first in the 200 back(1:53.86) and swam a 1:54.60 in the 200 IM.
Denison would also finish first in the 200 medley relay as well as the 400 free relay. In the 200 medley relay Hill, Jimmy Rogers, Sam Hibbert, and Nick Hensel finished with a time of 1:31.65. And in the 400 free relay, Hill, Hensel, Goins, Harry Parsons took first after swimming it in 3:04.18

GRANVILLE, Ohio – Xavier men’s and women’s swimming combined for nine first place finishes competing in a dual meet at Denison on Saturday afternoon.
Next up, Xavier wraps up the schedule for the fall semester at the three-day Cleveland State Magnus Cup. The meet gets underway on Thursday, Nov. 20 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 22 at CSU’s Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
WOMEN’S NOTABLE
- Abby Bocian, Jordyn Libler, Norah Simich and Olivia Oyster opened up the meet with a time of 1:45.38 in the 200 medley relay, placing second.
- Abby Bocian placed second in the 1000 free, finishing in a time of 10:39.48.
- Ava Tenhundfeld led the Musketeers in the 200 free, placing second with a time of 1:59.23.
- Emma Tenhundfeld led Xavier in the 200 back, setting a time of 2:06.93 to place first. She placed second in the 100 back, finishing in a time of 58.22.
- Jordyn Libler led the Musketeers in the 100 breast, finishing in 1:04.92 to place second.
- Norah Simich took first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:04.73. She completed the sweep of the butterfly events with a time of 57.39 in the 100 fly.
- Olivia Oyster won the the 50 free, setting a time of 23.30. She completed the sweep of the freestyle sprints, winning the 100 free with a time of 51.54.
- Parker Mandacina placed second in the 200 breast, finishing in a time of 2:22.81. She also led Xavier in the 200 IM, placing second with a time of 2:11.82.
- Teegan Madara led Xavier in the 500 free, placing third with a time of 5:18.41.
- Norah Simich, Julia Sweetman, Abbey Fish and Olivia Oyster set a time of 3:37.25 in the 400 free relay to place second.
- The Musketeer women collected five event wins but fell, 153-108.
