Cole, Crothers Pick Up 2nd Multi-Class Titles on Final Night of Aussie Nationals

2019 AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The fifth and final night of the 2019 Australian National Championships featured only the 100 free for multi-class swimmers.

Rowan Crothers (S10), 21, won the men’s race in 51.87. Behind him was Liam Schluter, who broke the S14 200 and 400 free records earlier in the meet, going 53.53. Just behind Schluter, in third, was 15-year-old Ricky Betar in 53.55.

S9 veteran Ellie Cole, 27, won the women’s race in 1:03.69. Fourteen-year-old Jasmine Greenwood, an S10, was second in 1:02.33. Ashley McConnell, 23, placed third in 1:04.64.

Note: swims completed by swimmers in multi-class events are scored based on how close the swimmer’s time is to their classification’s world record.
