Brazilian star Cesar Cielo has decided to forgo the next Golden Tour stop in Marseille to compete in Brazil.
Cielo will race both the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly at a competition hosted by the Minas Tennis Club. The rest of the Brazilian national team will be taking part in the part of the Golden Tour which will be held in Marseille this weekend. When it was announced that the Brazilian team would attend the event Cielo’s name was on that list.
The Brazilian meet will be held at the Federacao Aquatic Mineira and involve 175 athletes from two different teams.
Cielo, who represents Minas, finished the 2014 season ranked second in the world in both the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly.

Changing the schedule at very short notice, can only raise suspicion about his reluctance to be tested. Given that he already has a prior offence to his name, he should not be surprised that people find it odd that he wants to swim at a local tennis club meet rather than an international European event. He did that same thing last year when he skipped the Pan-Pac’s. It looks like he will do anything to avoid being tested positive before the Rio games. Very sad state of affairs.
