Naito Ehara is a competitive swimmer who represents Japan internationally.
International Competition
2016 Olympic Games
In Rio, Ehara swam on Japan’s 4×200 free relay, splitting 1:46.11 on the 2nd leg to aid Japan winning a bronze medal in the event. He also swam the 400 free, where he placed 31st in prelims (3:50.61).
2017 World Championships
In Budapest, Ehara swam the 200 free individually, advancing to semi finals and finishing 15th (1:47.36) overall. He also swam on Japan’s 4×200 free relay, which placed 5th in the final heat.
2018 Pan Pacific Championships
In Tokyo, Ehara swam the 200 and 400 free, placing 6th overall (1:46.90) in the 200 and 5th (3:48.80) in the 400. Hr led off (1:47.20) Japan’s 3rd place 4×200 free relay, helping Japan to the bronze medal.
2018 Asian Games
In Jakarta, Ehara earned his first individual international medal, a silver in the 400 free (3:47.14). He also helped Japan to a gold in the 4×200 free relay (1:47.31), which set a new games record and marked Ehara’s first international gold.
