Matthew Johnson:
Matthew, better known to his team as Matt, was born and raised in Southern California. He was a part of Canyons Aquatic Club growing up, and later swam for Hart High School. Following both his sophomore and junior seasons, Matt was named MVP of the team, as well as earning the Coaches Award his senior year (courtesy of goduke.com). Matt has continued his swimming career at Duke where he trains distance freestyle.
Club:
Matt was a part of Canyons Aquatic Club where he first swam for Jeremy Anderson, and then Jeff Conwell and Coley Stickels. Matt was a 2012 US Olympic Trials qualifier, along with being a World Championship trials and Summer Junior Nationals qualifier.
Personal:
Matt plans to to major in Economics, but is currently unsure of what he wants to do after graduating.
