Adriaan Venter:
Adriaan was born and raised in Johannesburg South Africa. He grew up swimming, running track and racing equestrian before going on to participate in all three of these sports for his high school, Helpmekaar Kollege. As both a sophomore and a senior, Adriaan was named the best all around swimmer. Then in 2011, he placed fifth in South Africa in the biathlon as well. In coming to Duke, Adriaan has stuck solely with swimming, where he trains sprint freestyle.

Adriaan was a part Waterborn Swimming back in South Africa where he swam under Peter Williams and Francois Boshof.
College:
2013-2014:
During his freshman year at Duke, Adriaan had life time bests in the 50, 100 and 200 free. He also competed in these three events at the Cavalier Invitational during his championship meet.
Personal:
Adriaan is majoring in Computer Science at Duke, but is currently unsure of what he wants to do after graduating.
