Wheaton IL Hosts Quad Meet – Women First, Men Fourth

The men and women of Wheaton IL hosted the Wheaton Quadrangular Meet at Chrouser Natatorium this past Saturday. The women posted an overall win with 561 points while the men’s team finished in fourth with 434 points. Lake Forest won the men’s meet.

MIT Rings in First Meet of New Year With Victory Over Coast Guard

MIT’s men’s team began the 2014 portion of its season with a dominating win over Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon, taking home the victory 203.5-74.5. The meet included atypical events – such as 50s of strokes – and the team finished the day with victories in 14 of the 16 contested events.

Williams Bests Amherst

In what has to be one of the most exciting rivalries of Division III swimming, the Ephs of Williams College faced off against the Jeffs of Amherst on Saturday night. After a close start and some back and forth, Williams was victorious taking the meet 189-104.

Denison falls to Eastern Michigan; Tops Wittenberg

The Big Red squad divided into two groups for their first competition since the midseason meet. One half of the athletes stayed at home for a dual meet with Eastern Michigan University while the other half made the trek to Springfield, OH for a meet with NCAC competitors, Wittenberg.

The Kenyon swimming & diving team just returned home from Sarasota, FL, where they had enough time on their hands to put together a music video to go with Katy Perry’s “‘Roar.”

CMS Sweeps Relays and Diving to Beat La Verne

With sweeps in each of the diving and relay events, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps swimming and diving teams each registered wins over La Verne on Saturday afternoon at Axelrood Pool in the first meet since December. The Athenas defeated the Leopards 239-56 while the Stags registered a 219-75 win. Both the Athenas and Stags are now 3-0 in conference action so far this season.

Emory Splits Dual Meet V DII Florida Southern

The Emory University Swimming and Diving teams split the opening meet of the 2014 portion of their campaign, with the top-ranked Emory women defeating Florida Southern College 195-67, and the third-ranked Emory men suffering a 165-97 loss to the Moccasins.

Denison junior swimmer Damon Rosenburg is featured in the Faces in the Crowd section of this week’s edition of Sports Illustrated.

Johns Hopkins beats The College of New Jersey; Greenhalgh breaks 20 Year Old Pool Record

The Johns Hopkins men’s swimming team won 10 of 14 events to defeat visiting TCNJ, 160-102, Wednesday morning in the Blue Jays’ first home meet of the season. The highlight of the meet came in the second event when freshman Andrew Greenhalgh broke the pool record in the 1650 Free.

DIII Men’s Midseason Rankings: Denison On Top, Kenyon Second

Post midseason, it’s fun to look into the future and try to predict how the end of the season will play out. We’ve seen some incredible swims this year already from the men in DIII – it’s time to take a more in depth look and try to figure out how individual players and teams will stack up come March.

DIII Women’s Midseason Power Rankings: Emory Atop Standings, JHU Making Some Noise

So, after some heavy duty training, December’s midseason meets gave us all some fast swims to marvel at and enjoy. But the big question on everyone’s mind is always – so what next? Midseason is a great way to look forward to what might be coming up in March for those athletes who will be rep-ing their teams at IUPUI in March for the NCAA meet.

Anonymous Donor Helps Fund Start Up For Manchester University Swim Team

An anonymous donation will help Manchester University hire a swim coach and begin a club team in fall of 2014, with an eye towards joining the NCAA Division III teams in the following year.

Wheaton Women Runners Up in Wheaton Invitational; Men Take Third

The Wheaton women’s and men’s swim teams finished second and third respectively at this weekend’s Wheaton Invitational. Washington (Mo.) University was victorious in both meets. The women’s team earned 786.5 team points to finish in second behind WashU’s 1057 points. The Wheaton men earned 618 points to finish behind WashU (1031) and UW-Stevens Point (704).

CMS Wins Double Dual; Williams Breaks School Record

CMS freshman Matthew Williams crushed the school record in the 100 back on his leading leg of the 400 medley relay. CMS went on to win their double dual meet with Chapman University and Whittier College.

Amherst Women Trump Middlebury

Amherst’s women’s team beat Middlebury handily in the dual meet on Saturday, December 7th. The final score was 183-111, with Amherst swimming exhibition to close out the meet.
