On day two of the Polish National Championships, Alicja Tchórz took the spotlight, winning both the 100 backstroke and the 400 IM. She was the only swimmer to win more than one event on the second day, but she wasn’t the only swimmer impressing the crowds in the water. Pawel Korzeniowski won the 200 freestyle today after posting the fourth fastest time in the world last night in the 200 butterfly. Although he didn’t crack the top with his time in the 200 freestyle, he was only 1 second away from the 10th fastest swim this year, posting a time of 1:47.78.
Tchórz won the women’s 100 back with a time of 1:01.21, and then followed up her backstroke victory with a 4:49.84 to win the women’s 400 IM. The men’s race was a fun race as well, with several swimmers charging ahead in the first 50 only to be chased down by Radoslaw Rawęcki for a come from behind victory. Rawęcki’s time leaves him just over a half a second out of the top 10 in the world this year.
The other day two winners were Donata Killijańska in the women’s 200 freestyle and Karol Zaczysńki in the men’s 400 IM.
