order of events and number of days are different at Worlds than at US Trials

What I came away from watching the Pro Series meet was the American women are stacked and have at least 1 and maybe 2 contenders in every event! The American men are not near that level at the moment. With one or two exceptions, there are few US male contenders that would be favored to win gold or any medals!

Great point by Sophie–does the WR unleash Ledecky? Fun to think about!

Will we see a German Distance Gold Sweep in Singapore? (Men’s 400, 800, & 1500)

SINK. 400 is very likely. 800 is probable. But 1500 is hard.

Will we see a Sub-8:00 Women’s 800 Free in our lifetime? In the next decade?

SWIM. Because I will have a long life.

2.5 individual golds for Leon Marchand in Singapore

SINK. 2 will be impressive enough for me.

2.5 individual golds for Gretchen Walsh in Singapore

SWIM. She’s the heavy favorite in 50 and 100 fly. I don’t see her winning the 100 free. The only question mark is 50 free. She’s yet to go sub-24 but I’m optimistic and think she’s going to drop time.

I somewhat disagree.

The M 800 FR is hardly probable for the Germans with Daniel Wiffen and Bobby Finke in the mix.

A sub 8:00 in the W 800 FR during the next decade? Nope!

Sink for Leon Marchand.

Gretchen Walsh needs to post a sub 24 in the W 50 FR at the 2025 USA Swimming National Championships to have a shot at three individual gold medals.

Schwarz’s time in 800 free last week was faster than what Wiffen and Finke have ever been. I know it could be a different story at the level of World Championships, but I won’t call it ‘hardly probable’.

Wow! No flowers for the youngstas, Derivaux and Erisman. Such a shame.

How about the high school seniors, Shackell and Weinstein? Ignoring the youth is so disappointing.

I am confused. Are you referencing A. Derivaux and R. Erisman? It could be anyone since you didn’t attach their first initial. Leaving Weinstein Unspecified is dangerous in the same Sentence as the Youth. It could be H. Who was a No good Man. Please clarify.

Giving Nic Fink vibes from discussions from J. Smith and literally any other breastroker in the US…”Alright boys, neither one of you can leave until one of you break 59 seconds.”

yall are onto something — big gretchs 50 back pb is a 27 mid from 2023. considering her drops since then i can see her at a 27 low which gets her a spot on the team (maybe) and has podium potential internationally (also maybe).
