First a few notes

  • The highest scoring class of any team at the meet were the Indiana seniors with 430 points. Next best were the Michigan juniors with 348.5
  • The most points any team scored in an event was Indiana’s 138 in the 100 breast. Next best was Indiana’s 128 in the 200 IM
  • The most points any swimmer had was Indiana junior Owen McDonald with a perfect 96. Next best were Michigan junior Tyler Ray and Indiana junior Zalan Sarkany each with 87.

It just occured to me that Sarkany doesn’t have an A cut – he is gonna get invited, because he is 8th in the 1650 and 14th in the 500 this season, but would that affect his third event?

Unless of course 400/500 free conversions from SC Worlds count (I know SC Worlds is a qualification meet for NC’s, but the distance free conversions are not listed on USA Swimming’s website for SCY times).

As long as he has a B cut in his third event, he can swim it. He doesn’t have to have an A to get that privilege, just has to be actually invited, then he can swim anything he wants with a B cut.
