While favorites Missy Franklin, Breeja Larson, and Felicia Lee all came through with wins on night two of the 2014 Women’s NCAA Championships, Paige Miller, Maya Dirado, and the rest of the Stanford women played spoilers for a large portion of our entrants in the Nike Pick ‘Em contest.

Wheatie333 holds the lead after two days of competition, with another strong 53 points on day 2. The daily top scorer for night two was “DannyF“, who scored 55 points to make up for his/her disappointing 18-point opening day.

Day Two Notes

Once again, Stanford was largely overlooked in the relays, receiving only 56 of the 384 first place votes. Georgia (192 votes) was the favorite.
Elizabeth Beisel was heavily favored by our readers to take the 400 IM, receiving 298 first place votes. Maya Dirado, tonight’s champion, received just 46 votes.
Missy Franklin and Breeja Larson–by far the biggest favorites of the meet–didn’t disappoint, accounting for around 350 first place selections each in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
Rachel Bootsma, the favorite in the 100 backstroke, didn’t even place in the top 8.
Cal and Georgia accounted for all but five of the first place votes in the 800 free relay. They finished 1-2 in the event.

Update: There was a big error in Morgan’s scoring formulas. The correct scores are below, first sorted by “TOTAL” and then sorted by “Day 2 Score”.

Update #2: So after we fixed an error (things were copied over a row off), we made a different error in fixing Morgan’s score that has since been corrected.

Yeah, I’m not quite sure what the deal with that is, it says I have 0 points for day two and I know I picked Franklin in the 2 free and Larson in the breast, and I think I even picked Dirado in the IM.
