Zimbabwean Youth Olympian Chad Idensohn Verbally Commits to Arizona

18-year old Chad Idensohn, who represented Zimbabwe at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, has verbally committed to the Arizona Wildcats.

Idensohn was the only male swimmer to represent Zimbabwe, and has good size at 6’3″ and 185 pounds.

In long course meters at that meet, he swam 23.12 in the 50 free, 51.93 in the 100 free, and 25.02 in the 50 fly: all of which were faster than his seed times.

Those freestyle times convert to roughly 20.10 and 45.34.

He’ll be joining the Wildcats at a prime time with Tandy, the fastest 50 freestyler in the country last season, graduating, and not a ton of depth left in the Arizona sprint group. Idensohn will probably be counted on to contribute to Arizona’s free relays immediately as a freshman.
