Samuel Senn, the 2014 Missouri High School State Champion in the 100 and 200 freestyles, has given his verbal commitment to become a Missouri State Bear. Sam is a Springfield native, currently competing for Springfield Aquatics and Kickapoo High School.
Sam is a 2014-15 USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and is currently in the top 5% of his class at Kickapoo High School. He plans to pursue a degree in Business at MSU.
At the 2014 MSHSAA State Championship, his 45.77 100 free and 1:40.35 200 free helped the Chiefs finish 5th place as a team. That 100 freestyle time also qualified Samuel for Winter Juniors. In Long Course, he has also qualified for Summer Juniors with a 24.01 50 free and 52.14 100 free. Sam also shows the potential to develop beyond the freestyle events, as he has improved tremendously in fly, back and breast over the last few seasons, and may prove to me a very versatile pick up for Head Coach Dave Collins and the Bears.
“When I visited Missouri State I immediately felt welcomed. While on my recruiting trip, I discovered that their team always hangs out and acts like a familiy. Academics are extremely important to the team, which is something that I appreciate. Coach Dave helped me through the recruiting process, which made this decision easier to make. I am looking forward to being a bear at this great swim program next year! #BearUp”
