Chelsea Ye
Chelsea was born and raised in in Oklahoma City, OK where she swam for Chesapeake Swim Club. During high school she swam for Classen School of Advanced Studies where she was all-state as a senior. Chelsea went on to be district female athlete of the year her senior season along with being valedictorian (courtesy of goduke.com). At Duke Chelsea has continued her career training sprint freestyle, while she takes part in Duke’s CAPE program – a program for female student athletes completing the pre-medicine requirements.
Club
As a club swimmer, Chelsea swam under John Brown at Chesapeake Swim Club where she qualified for and competed in Junior Nationals and Nationals.
College
2012-2013
During her freshman year at Duke, Chelsea was a part of the women’s ACC team competing in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle. She had best times in all three of her individual events, and was a part of the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays setting school records in all three.
2013-2014
Her sophomore year at Duke Chelsea competed at the ACC Championship meet in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 back, getting best times in the 50 and 100 free. She also competed in the 200 and 400 free relay, qualifying for NCAAs in the 200 free relay and competing in the NCAA Championship meet.
Personal
Chelsea is majoring in Evolutionary Anthropology with a minor in Global Health, hoping to go into the health field one day.
