Embarrassment of riches. Coming in:

Pavalic is 23.8/53.1 SCM. Workman is a 22.1/48.3 SCY. Martin is a 22.2 SCY. Thompson is 24.1/54.2 SCM.

(Meant to be under relay names guy.)

Molly Workman won’t be under intense pressure to deliver in the freestyle events as a freshman.

For example:

50 FR (SCY)
Nwakalor, M. – 21.66 (2026)
Nwakalor, M. – 22.01 (2025)

M. Nwakalor may have the potential next season as a senior to outperform B. Greenwaldt as a graduate student in the 50 FR.

If the 1650 FR remains on Day 1, it isn’t worth it for C. Gormsen to swim it for four (4) measly points when the University of Virginia needs to replace A. Canny on the 4 x 200 FR-R. Besides, C. Gormsen will be alot fresher for heats of the 200 FR on Day 2 and the heats for the 500 FR on Day 3.

The W 4 x 100 FR-R for the University of Virginia is set for the 2026-2027 NCAA Season.

As for the W 4 x 50 FR-R, M. Nkawalor or N. Jazy will look to replace B. Greenwaldt. It’s nice to have a plan in place.

always interesting to see 400 free relay splits at end of a 4 day meet
looking at this UVA relay-

Curzan and Curtis utterly exhaustion
Moesch still steady
Mintenko excitement to swim first finals relay, throws down a great split

if the 400FR were on day 2 most teams probably a second faster

It’s always on thr last day regardless of structure so, not worth speculating. Imagine if it was 2019 or earlier and they all had to swim prelims of relays too? They’ve got it pretty good…

yeah, forgot about pre covid years
with relay prelims the top swimmers went to the blocks 14 times not the current 10 times

just ask Dressel how he felt on his 4th100free on the 4th day of the meet

Mintenko was on 4×2 and swam well on both. The other three were a fair bit slower than their flat start bests. Whatta buncha bums!

yeah, forgot about the 4×200,
but that was expected, and I think the 4×100 was a last minute decision
seeing that Canny had carried a tough schedule and was fading on the last day.

When it’s all said and done, Smilte Plytnykaite may be THE key for another title run.

With the departures of A. Canny, Z. Skirboll, E. Weber; sprint breaststroke will be at a premium especially on the medley relays.

You do realize of course that he built this program into what it is. He didn’t join Standford or something and just maintain a legacy…
